Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Hydramo B.V. (“Hydramo”), provider of the EO2GO mobile application (the “App”), is committed to protecting user privacy and ensuring that all data processing is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Dutch data protection laws. This Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, used, and protected when using the App. By accessing or using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined herein.

2. Data Minimisation and User Identification

The App is designed according to the principle of data minimisation. Users are not required to provide personal identity information such as name or email address to access core functionality. Each user is assigned a randomly generated User ID, which is used solely for operational purposes, including request handling and credit management. This identifier does not directly reveal the identity of the user.

3. Location Data Processing

The App may obtain location data either through the device’s GNSS functionality or via coordinates manually entered by the user. This data is used exclusively to define the Area of Interest (AOI) for satellite data queries. Location data is processed only at the time of request and is not continuously tracked or stored for movement analysis. Hydramo does not perform user tracking, profiling, or behavioral analysis. Any stored location-related data is anonymized and cannot be linked to an identifiable individual.

4. Technical and Usage Data

For the purpose of maintaining and improving the service, Hydramo collects limited technical and usage data, including request parameters, system logs, and performance metrics. This information is used exclusively for system operation, debugging, reliability, and performance optimization. Where users voluntarily submit environmental anomaly reports, only the relevant coordinates and environmental context are stored, without any personal identifiers, and solely for operational use such as duplicate detection and environmental monitoring.

5. Payment and Billing Data

Payments within the App are processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect personal and billing information such as name, email address, billing address, tax identification details, and payment method information. Hydramo does not store or process payment card data. However, limited billing-related information may be accessible to Hydramo via Stripe strictly for customer support, billing verification, and invoice handling. All payment processing is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.

6. Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing

Data is processed solely for the purpose of delivering and maintaining the EO2GO service. This includes satellite data query execution, credit management, billing support, system security, and service improvement. Processing is based on contractual necessity for providing the service, legitimate interest in ensuring system integrity and security, and legal obligations related to financial and tax compliance. Hydramo does not sell personal data, does not use data for advertising, and does not track users across external services.

7. Data Storage and Retention

All data is stored within the European Union. Hydramo retains only the minimum data necessary for operational purposes. Anonymous technical logs may be retained to ensure system reliability and performance. Billing-related data is retained in accordance with applicable legal requirements. Credits purchased within the App expire after twelve months as defined in the service terms.

8. Data Sharing

Data is shared only where strictly necessary for service delivery. This includes payment processing through Stripe and the use of infrastructure providers operating within the EU. The App utilizes satellite data from the European Union Copernicus Programme; however, no personal data is shared with these data providers. Hydramo does not share personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

9. Data Security

Hydramo implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures include secure communication protocols, access controls, and a system architecture based on minimal data storage. Operational data is separated from any potential identifiers to further enhance privacy protection.

10. User Rights

In accordance with GDPR, users have the right to request access to their data, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability. Due to the anonymous nature of the App, these rights may be limited to data associated with a User ID or billing records. Requests can be submitted via EO2GO support channel.

11. Location Privacy Assurance

The App does not perform continuous location tracking, background monitoring, or movement profiling. Location data is used strictly on demand for processing user-initiated requests and is handled in an anonymized manner.

12. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. Hydramo does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. Updates to This Policy

Hydramo reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the service or legal requirements. The most current version will be made available within the App or on the EO2GO website.

14. Contact

For privacy-related inquiries, users may contact Hydramo via the official email channel.
